AgIS Capital and Irrigation Testing

Writing by Carl Evers III, AgIS Capital Director of Sustainability

This summer AgIS Capital worked with the Tehama County Resource Conservation District (RCD) to perform a distribution uniformity test on Olives and Walnuts that we manage.

Their mobile irrigation lab was able to provide us with formal reports which helped us understand the actual application rates of each block and identified areas where we can perform maintenance to further enhance the efficiency of our irrigation systems.

Distribution uniformity tests are an important component to water and energy conservation and maximizing “crop per drop.” Your local resource conservation district will likely have a mobile irrigation lab and it is worth contacting them to schedule a distribution uniformity test on your irrigation system.
